Tomorrow I'll be in Manhattan . . .

. . . near the World Trade Center for a seminar
the first time in five years

I'll walk amongst ghosts and ghouls
I'll be there with mixed emotions
I'll confront my fears
I'll assert the continuity of life
I'll not be even a speck in history

I know I'll feel the third rail
when I arrive on Penn Station,
the electricity generated by people
the hurriedness,
the quickness,
the temperament,
the eyes of New York . . . .
